Alpaca breeders for over 12 years and members of the Victorian Eastern Region of the Australian Alpaca Association. They breed Huacaya alpacas of all colours but focus mainly on white and black.

Victoria’s largest coastal and most talked about national park features a spectacular array of beaches, hilltop views, endless trails and local wildlife. Wilson's Promontory National Park is only a 30 min drive from the Prom Country Lodge.

When visiting the Prom Country Region, why not drop into one of the Information Centres to gather information on attractions and other places of interest.

Walk, cycle or ride 72 kilometres on The Great Southern Rail Trail. It is suitable for both the energetic and not so energetic outdoor enthusiast. From Leongatha, the trail goes through Koonwarra, Meeniyan, Stony Creek, Buffalo, Fish Creek, Foster, Toora, Welshpool and Port Welshpool, offering rural and bush views along the way.
 

With its lush gullies, giant mountain ash trees and tree ferns, Tarra Bulga National Park is one of only four major areas of cool temperate rainforest in the state.

Bushwalks, waterfalls and rivers
Try out one of the numerous walking tracks that emanate from the picnic areas. Meander through the forest, head south down to Tarra Falls, or take the Fern Gully Nature Walk, which includes magnificent views along the famous suspension bridge.

Plants and wildlife
The rainforest is a haven for plants and wildlife. Discover a wide variety of birds including the pilotbird, yellow tailed black cockatoo, eastern whipbird, and currawongs. Visit in the evening when the forest comes to life as possums, owls and bats emerge to feed. If you're lucky, you may see a lyrebird scratching the forest floor looking for food or catch a glimpse of some of the other inhabitants like wombats, swamp wallabies, gliders and platypuses.

New to The Prom in 2019 -  the Pennicotts team launched Eco Tourism boats, that take up to 30 guests out to Skull Rock and beyond - exploring marine life along the way - its an incredible 2.5hour experience - some say, a trip of a life time !  Booking with us or directly at Tidal River.

Newly restored - a must visit !  An incredible history of the long jetty that reaches out into Corner Inlet. A walk back in time with the history well articulated along the walk.  Spectacular views of The Prom - a fishing haven.  But is you want to buy fresh fish - head to Port Franklin - check opening times, its limited and delicious - fresh fish is a gift to be enjoyed !  

Andrew is a local treasure  - stunning recycle, up-cycle, and everything in-between.  He's often found tinkering away in the sunshine with his beloved dogs around him.  Don't miss this little treasure ! 

Late in 2014 Alison opened a Gallery/Bookshop in the town of Fish Creek in South Gippsland. Not far from where Alison was born, Fish Creek is nestled in the middle of the landscape that inspired classics such as My Farm, Magic Beach and The Quicksand Pony. Nearby, Waratah Bay is home to Noni the Pony.

The space is a dedicated 'Alison Lester' wonderland with over 70 different Limited Edition prints on display and available to buy along with all of Alison's books. There is also a wide range of greeting cards and wrapping paper

Here at Pandesal Bakery, we delight in bringing you fine artisan breads. Our breads and pastries are handmade the old fashioned way.

Located in Meeniyan, just 1.5 hours from Melbourne, Pandesal Bakery was started by Stephen, an acclaimed baker with a passion to create a natural bread without preservatives or additives.

By using a long fermentation process, we achieve a bread with more flavour, using  only the basic ingredients: flour, water and salt. Sourdoughs are our focus – the process and fermentation can take up to 36 hours from start to finish.

We offer a great variety of sourdoughs, Turkish loaves, ciabatta, polenta, fruit loaves, spelt sourdough and many more. In fact, we have a different selection of breads and pastries made fresh every day.
